Therapy Dogs of South Florida Inc, is truly Making A Difference.  Mr. Tom DeCicco and his programs consist of Animal Assisted Activities, Animal Assisted Therapy, Animal Assisted Crisis Response and Children Reading to Dogs. Therapy Dogs of South Florida is a full-time not-for-profit therapy dog program which provide opportunities for emotional support, motivation, educational, and/or therapeutic benefits to enhance the quality of a patient's or student's life.

Therapy Dogs of South Florida Inc., was founded by Mr. Tom DeCicco in November 2002, and is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization. Tom, Jill Williams and their therapy dogs work very hard on a regular basis, with Tom making regular visits to the Boca Raton Regional Hospital and Jill at Indian Ridge School.  At Indian Ridge School in Palm Beach County, therapy dog Kuda and owner/hander Jill Williams, a speech/language pathologist, continue working hard helping with speech and language impaired students. Students are benefiting through higher fluency, comprehension reading levels and improved social skills. Also, Jill Williams and Kuda are working hard at the Palm Beach Circuit Court, Juvenile Division, in an innovative new program which brings therapy dogs inside the courtroom to comfort abandoned, abused and neglected children who must appear in court. Just having dogs nearby for the children to pet and cuddle reduces stress levels tremendously. Therapy dog Kuda is a courtroom favorite when appearing in the juvenile court, which can be an intimidating experience, especially for a child. Jill and Kuda provide a source of comfort for children who appear in court. Jill is also a National Team Leader for National Animal Assisted Crisis Response(NAACR). Jill is certified to lead teams on local and national deployments.

Congratulation to the therapy dog teams for receiving Wachovia Bank 2010 & Wells Fargo Bank 2013 "Community Service Award". Royal Palm Beach Elementary named Mr. Tom DeCicco "Volunteer of the Year" for the 2006/2007 school year.  In 2004, Mr. DeCicco received a Deerfield Beach Chamber of Commerce "Volunteer of the Year" award.   Therapy dogs Rusty, Charley, Kelly & Harris had the honor to carry out the ceremonial first pitch at the Florida Marlins "Bark at the Park" baseball games for five years in a row. Tom and his therapy dogs have received numerous Certificate Of Appreciation acknowledgements thoughout the years and have been featured on television, Boca Raton Observer Magazine(May 2011 issue)and in many area newspapers.

Tom's goal for 2015, is to continue the non-profit volunteer program in "Making A Difference" to adults and students with our five special therapy animals Kuda, Charley, Harris, Lola and our therapy dog in training Willow.
